Regional Youth Centre in Košice is a school facility, budget organisation founded by the Košice self-governing region. In its activities it follows the concept materials of Council of Europe, European Union, Department of Education of the Slovak Republic and Košice self-governing region for work with youth.

The function of the centre is the professional support of the work with youth in Košice region, support of the activities of the young people and for young people with interest in fields like:

 - participation

 - citizenship

 - human rights

 - voluntariness

 - international mobility

 - informal education

 - research and study of the youth's needs

 - providing information, consulting

 - support and imprving the creativity in the field of the contemporary visual art

 - support and presentation of the contemporary art for young people and the public

The special field that the centre is engaged in, is the support of activity of the Student's School Councils at high schools in Košice region at both regional and international levels. The support for the SSCs you can find also in regional consulting office for SSC, which is running in our centre since January 2009.

The centrum generates opportunities for young people to improve their competences, gain new information, new skills by means of accredited trainings, seminars, workshops.

Visual Studio is a platform of Regional Youth Centre with ambition to support and present the conteporary visual art. Our first aim is to encourage young talented people who are interested in visual art in its various forms (multimedia, video, drawing...). We want to contribute to reviving of the area of presentation and we also want to stimulate the interest of the young people as well as the puplic, in fine arts and the culture as such.

The Centre, as a member of the international network of youth centres ENYC and the observer of the PLATFORM Network disposes of a large database of the partnership organisations in whole Europe and supports active participation of young people in various forms of cooperation with foreign partners by means of youth exchanges, seminars, workshops and summer camps both home and abroad.

Within the international mobility, the Centre offers for young people the opportunity to utilise these offers of the Consulting centre of the platform Youth in Action and information network EURODESK.

The Centre is a commissioned organisator of long-dated sport competitions of the Košice self-governing region and district rounds of the olympiads and preliminary contests of the Ministry of education of the Slovak Republic.

The Centre is opening the Regional Voluntary Centre in 2009, whose main tasks is to support and promote the ideas of voluntariness, help all those who are interested in it.

From 2010 the Regional Centre of Information will work in cooperation with Eurodesk Slovakia for youth and staff that works with youth.
